| | I don't know if anyone reads this updater, but I was told that it would be wise for me to keep it going so people interested CAN. With that said, I am here to ask you for prayer for the Project Paraguay people here who are looking into reorganizing things (My insides yell, "YAY!!! CHANGE, EXPANSION, GOODNESS!!!") which would have quite a bit of impact on what goes on in El Renuevo, obviously. I desperately hope that God will really begin to get things moving now, because there is so much to be done in Paraguay and so much fire needs to be fanned!
I went down up to the Project Paraguay meeting this week and I feel like a mini-step or molehill has been surmounted, because God gave me the chance to confess to the committee my desire to participate in long-term missions in Paraguay. I also spoke at great length with Hermana Angela, Pastor Maureira's wife, and with some of the other brothers at the church there, online. I am so thrilled to hear about Paraguay, always...
The Lord has really put the girls of the church in Paraguay on my heart this week. It's difficult because culturally it seems they are really expected to do very little besides marry at 18 and perhaps have a job. To become strong wives, leaders in their world and to reach out to the other girls in their community, the girls in the church are going to have to meet some different standards. They are going to have to take initiative, step out of their boxes, and begin witnessing actively. They are also going to have to live differently and not focus so much on externals (which would mean a change in dress...) and all these things come from the heart. It's just incredibly hard to be a young girl in the male-driven drug culture, and even more difficult to be a young believer. So please pray for the preteen and teen girls at el Renuevo, that they can resist the 'need' to get a boyfriend now, that they can focus on the future and the will of God, and that they may have strength and inner beauty before anything else.
Also, this girl here would like prayer for her studies, if people have time...: D I need help with time management!
And one more thing...PLEASE PRAY FOR MONEY! There is always a lack thereof...what's so ridiculous is that it is so incredibly cheap to bless people in Paraguay, compared with other missions projects. So little does so much there, so if you could be praying that churches here would get involved in Paraguay's physical needs. Supporting ministers and evangelists, building, working with the school materially...all these things need money.
I love you all very very much!!! Please keep Paraguay in your prayers and hearts! You have all done so much already!
Give thanks in everything...1 Thessalonians...
