| | The most worthless man ever would have to be Genji.
That being said, I recommend that you read the Genji Monogatari (the Tale of Genji) anyway. I believe the author was very much in touch with Genji's foolishness and perhaps, just perhaps, she understood the cause of the downfall she wrote about as she explored the human soul of someone described almost as a god... I cannot speak in specifics without making this entry rather child-unfriendly, which, being a child, I refuse to do. But perhaps Genji's greatest downfall is his inability to understand that friendship is possible, that life does not revolve around male-female relationships...that a man can be to a woman so much more than her spouse if he chooses to be her friend.
I will be so bold as to say that there is no greater love than the love of a true friend, and that it FAR surpasses the love of a husband or wife. It is so much more than the meaning we have given to 'friend'...what Jesus described as a friend was a person with whom your soul blends, who dies for you. A friend is closer to a brother because a brother shares blood ties which bind you, while a friend shares ties of another type of blood.
If the blood quality determines the relationship, then there can be no greater friendship than the friendship between two or more people who have the Blood of Christ binding them together, and no greater relationship than that.
All that being said...I am in the University studying Japanese Literature, Chemistry, Physics, and Tennis, working for Med degrees to return to Paraguay...still studying, still waiting, still praying. Trying to raise money for a truck for la Iglesia. Thinking about ways to return to Paraguay in the summer. If anyone has ideas, throw them at me...or even better, pray for me. If you ever want to drop by or spend the night or whatever, I have friends who can put you up and I would be glad to let you borrow my dorm as well...beware, I will talk mountains about my Neverland.
I used to end my entries with a picture of Peter Pan, and a quote. I have now become quite certain that I am the only Peter Pan on this planet, and being rather indisposed to post pictures of myself, we shall suffice with a quote...
"There was another light in the room now, a thousand times brighter than the nightlights..."
Gracias a Dios, such is a friend.
